An online collection of folklore, legend and myth. Stories from around the world about the funny, the strange and the totally weird
About Us
Weirdsville is something of an experiment mixed with a literary vision. We all remember those stories we heard growing up; the monsters of ancient Greece, the curses of the Egyptian mummies, Arthur Conan Doyle and his faries, the ghost armies in the field up town.
For me, i feel that the best stories are often the oldest ones. Those yarns which merge fact and fiction plausability with the ludicrous. So what i want to do is build the world's largest collection of traditional stories. Whether folklore, myth or fable, i if you know a classic story then submit it for display on Weirdsville.
I want classical stories such as myths and legends, whether famous or obscure. Also i want to hear stories that might be localised to your village or town.
PLEASE NOTE: Weirdsville is not a forum for conspiracy theorists or paranoid cosmics. We have no place for tales of abduction or something 'personal'. The stories we collect here are purely folklore and myth. I also would like to add that as much as I respect the creative mind, please do not send in original stories which you have created yourself.
